Way of the Hunter 2 — Culling Decision Assistant

How this tool works

The assistant reduces uncertainty when you have to decide whether to retain, harvest or observe an animal. It is an explainable rules engine, not a genetic prediction engine. Inputs: map/region, species, sex, age stage, observed star rating, habitat type and your goal (trophy, cash, herd improvement or mission).

Outputs & safety rules

• Keep — retain the individual for current goals.
• Cull Candidate — harvest is reasonable for the stated goal, pending a clean, confirmed shot.
• Observe First — not enough evidence; the default when input is incomplete.
• Unverified — no published rule matches; shown with the rule status.

• Never outputs a guaranteed five-star result, exact hidden-genetics percentage, or assured one-shot outcome.
• Rules only enter a Published Rule Set after an official source or patch note plus reproducible in-game evidence; everything else stays Unverified.
• Every result shows its data version, rule status and check date.

Rule set & versioning

Rule storage tracks game version, source URL, checked date and reviewer status, and flags a needs-review when a related patch lands. As of game version v0.2.0 no official published rule set exists — the assistant therefore returns conservative guidance labelled Unverified. Once official rules are published this tool will switch to them for matching species.
